It’s one thing to be labeled as unfortunate, but it’s another when your life was screwed from the beginning. Born in New York City, Temari was the product between her American father and her mail-order Japanese mother. The blonde hair on the infant with green eyes was believable enough, and her brother’s chocolate brown hair from their father was understandable as well. But when the third child of the family was born, the red shock of hair that was on his head brought questions. And it was the questions that started the fall of the Sabaku family. Thus began a childhood that Temari would always remember, the loud arguments between her parents, the façade they had to put on for the sake of the reputation of her father’s company, Sunagakure, Inc., and then the fear they had to reserve within themselves for the youngest member of the family. With the suspicious death of their mother shortly after Gaara was born, Temari was all by herself, finding comfort in the small pleasures of school and sometimes solace in Kankurou. Being the only female in the family now, Temari had taken on the role their mother had left vacant, to show some patience and love for her brothers, especially for the youngest one of them all. And it worked, but it took a lot of self-sacrificing to stay sane and intact, the basis of her tough personality and undying loyalty to her brothers. It was the year after college at New York University that Temari accepted an internship offered in San Francisco and a full-ride scholarship to Mishima University for her major. It was the break she had been waiting for, especially since in the past year she had been at home, taking care of the crumbling empire of Sunagakure Inc, its president, her father, having died just as mysteriously as their mother. Some said it was an assassination, but for the remaining Sabaku family, it was a new start. With things under control for now, she decided to try her hand against the real world and moved to San Francisco for now.
